Hey my soon to be World Travelers!
Happy Tuesday!!!
Deadline season is now upon us, so I wanted to take a minute to send you a few reminders!
First, the most important thing you’ll be bringing on your trip: your passport!
Your passport needs to be valid for up to six months after you return from your trip. This means your passport cannot expire before December 27, 2020 for 1-month trips or Jan 30, 2021 for 2-month trips!
If you need to get a passport, now is the time! If you need to apply for (or renew) your passport, you need to do it in the next few weeks!! Your deadline for applying for your passport is February 18, 2020.
If you apply for your passport on or after February 18, 2020, you have to expedite it and have overnight shipping both ways. This is more expensive, so save some money and apply for your passport ASAP if you haven’t yet!
For more information about applying for your passport check out The State Department’s website.
Once you get your passport, go ahead and upload a picture of it (like the one below – you can just use your phone) onto your documents tab on your profile. Be sure to completely and accurately fill out the boxes under where your passport uploads. The absolute last day to have your passport in hand and uploaded onto your profile is March 30, 2020.
While we’re on the topic, you will also need to bring extra photos that you used to apply for your passport, you know those 2X2 inch passport glamour headshots you got taken? You’ll need to bring two with you on your trip (for potential visas and such), so go ahead and get those printed and crossed off your To- Do List!
Note: It does not have to be the same exact photo as on your passport, so if you don’t have those extras on hand, you can go to CVS, Walgreens, or some other place like that to get new ones taken and printed!
Finally, remember that 25% is recommended in your fundraising summary in just 45 days, on February 28, 2020.
This means you must have the following amounts processed to your fundraising summary by February 28th:
Colombia: $988
Ghana: $1,138
India: $1,138
Philippines: $1,138
Romania/Serbia: $1,363
Swaziland/South Africa: $1,363
Brazil/Argentina: $1,363
Thailand: $1,288
Remember to be working through the Fundraising Map that your advisor created and sent to you, this is very important, especially as we start heading into deadlines!
Please let your advisor know if you have any questions or concerns. We are here for you!
So proud of y’all!
