I have been putting off writing this blog for a while now mostly because of fear. What if we can’t do it? What if I discourage everyone? BUT… What if we CAN? Lets not let fear stand in the way!
There have seen several mentions in our team blogs about the possibility of being fully funded/pledged before we leave on July 1st. Every time I see a comment like this I get so excited, someone else is thinking it too! But now I want to pose a challenge!
First part of the challenge: lets pray in faith for this! I know that it will probably be a huge distraction for me if I am in the field and still trying to raise money. If that is God’s will, so be it, and I know He will provide exactly when and how we each need. I don’t know if any of you feel the same, but maybe you do. Let’s pray that God provides fully before July 1st so that we eliminate the possibility of that distraction.
Second part of the challenge: there are some of us who are going to raise all of the money even before July 1st and there are some of us who are really going to struggle with this part of the process. So, if you are in the first group, I challenge you to continue fundraising even after you raise all of your funds, but not for yourself, for one or more of your brothers or sisters. Instead of having people donate to your account, direct them to someone else’s. Yep, it is that simple! To the second group, don’t automatically think you are in this group, you may be in the first. Ah, simple again!
I guess the best way to know who still needs money is to list on your personal blog list on your “Support Me” tab how much you have left to raise. I’ve seen some people do this but I haven’t figured out how to do it myself. If anyone knows, please share.
We can do this together with Him! We have already come together as a family in prayer, encouraging one another; this is just another way to unite as a team. God is so good and can do far more than we can fathom. Lets trust Him to do big things!
