Nepal was a rollercoaster that I didn’t want to get off of. It was an amazing and challenging month! We had the opportunity to experience multiple different ministries and parts of Nepal. I have created a list of most of the things we got to do this last month!
- We did prayer walks at Hindu temples. We prayed that people would feel the calling of the Holy Spirit and realize that they will not find fulfillment through the Idols they pray too.
- We visited a women’s home for older women who had no where to stay. Most of them having been homeless before. We prayed for healing and comfort. At the women’s home we also had the pleasure of praying for a young baby who had been abandoned at the hospital due to a physical disability.
- We went to the slums to help with a feeing program. They prepared breakfast Monday through Friday’s for children before they went to school. For some of these children it was the only meal they would get that day.
- We hiked to a Leper colony where we spent some of the day praying over the people that lived their. We prayed for healing and that they found comfort and love in the community they were living in.
- We spent a week Chitwan villages where we would go on home visits and pray for healing for those who were sick. We shared our testimonies in peoples homes and shared the Gospel with people who had never heard of Jesus or the Bible before.
- We hiked to a waterfall and prayed in surrounding villages to two different families.
- We visited a girls home where girls who had been rescued from sex slavery have found refuge. They are provided with education, business training, and they learn how to sew and make jewelry so they can go out into the work force. They shared their testimonies with us and how much they enjoyed the.
- We spent 4 days in the Himalayas hiking to remote villages, hiked 20+ miles, got eaten alive by leeches, had the opportunity to stay in peoples homes and were able to pray over them and share the Gospel with some who had never heard before. We saw Gods creation like never before when looking out and seeing the Himalayas and the Annapurna mountain peaks.
This month was fast paced and always moving but I wouldn’t have changed it for anything. We got to meet people from all different parts of Nepal, people who have experienced so much pain in their past but have found redemption and healing from that.
We saw first hand how persecution and the cast system can cause so much fear in the people of Nepal. But we also witnessed Gods power and people were accepting Christ despite those fears.
Nepal will always have a piece of my heart and I know I will return their one day to experience more of its beauty.
