affectionately call “my spot.” It’s this AMAZING, vast, green
hillside that I’m pretty sure touches the heavens if I were to climb to the
top. It overlooks a huge valley as far as the eye can see. I can breathe there.
It’s the same feeling I get when I’m by the ocean.
Anyway, I had an appointment with the Lord. He beckoned me to that place
yesterday. He knew my heart was heavy. He knew I WANTED to hear specifically
from Him on a few things. So I spent a few hours praying, listening and
worshipping at His feet. It was awesome.
Here was His response: “You have not because you ask not.” So I
started asking for some stuff. Real specific stuff. It was GOOD!
My older sister, Charlotte, loves me well. She took the time to write out a TON
of individual prayers with corresponding verses according to different
“needs” I may be having. Yesterday I picked two of them to read:
“When you need success” and “When you are thirsty”
Here are the prayers and note the similarity in the scripture verses for each
one.
When you need success:
“Lord,
I pray you will bring Juliette success in the specific areas she’s surrendering
to you right now. I pray she will humble herself so that you can lift her up in
due time. You want nothing but good for us and success is part of that. Bring
her victory, Lord, as a testament to Who You are and so that those watching
Juliette will also praise you. Amen.“
Verse: Psalm 1:1-3 “Blessed is the (woman) who does not walk in the
counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of
mockers. But (her) delight is in the law of the Lord, and on this law (she)
meditates day and night. (She) is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not whither. Whatever
(she) does prospers.”
When you are thirsty:
“Lord,
I pray Juliette will be satisfied and satiated in her current thirst. Rain down
upon her what she needs to soak in at this time. May her feet be firmly planted
in patient waiting for you to meet her need. Thank you for your perfect timing
and for the fact that from where you stand, her needs have all been met. Thank
you for the rain that’s coming to her. Praise you.“
Verse: Jeremiah 17:7-8 “But blessed is the (woman) who trusts in the
Lord, whose confidence is in Him. (She) will be like a tree planted by the
water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never
fails to bear fruit.”
I am comforted by the fact that I have a God who knows exactly what
I need and when I need it.My God
placed these prayers on my sister’s heart a few months ago knowing full well I
would receive them in His perfect timing to bring me comfort and build
confidence. He hears me when I ask for specific things and is faithful to
provide as He sees fit. I am wealthy beyond measure because I have a God that
gives me everything I need.
