I was walking along the ocean’s shore this morning talking
with God. Sharing my heart, asking questions, seeking comfort. Out of nowhere a
line from the movie The Lakehouse
popped into my mind(i know, i just lost cool points with some of you…but bear
with me please). Towards the very end of the movie, the leading lady, Kate, has
knowledge about the leading man, Alex’s, future. If he jumps the gun and meets
her before it’s time, things do not end up well. So she pleads with him,
saying,

This is the line that the Lord placed in my heart. His very
words to me. Wait for me (let my
Spirit lead you), and wait WITH me (don’t
be anxious, you are hemmed in, behind and before, I am with you).
And so I sat down. On the beach. In freaking South Africa. And
said…okay dad. I love you.
