Hello hello!! Welcome to my World Race Blog!
For those of you that do not know what the World Race is, it is my utmost pleasure to fill you in! The World Race is an 11 month mission trip to 11 different countries. It is a part of Adventures in Missions, which is an interdenominational Christian organization that has been sending out thousands of missionaries on mission trips since 1989.
Starting January 2018, I will be leaving the country (with a giant backpack and a whole lot of bravery) for 11 months with a team of 40-50 fellow believers. Our mission is to spread the gospel to the nations!! We will travel to 11 countries total, spending one month in each! I will be doing life with this community, and working alongside them to shine the light of Christ into the hearts of people that may have never heard His name.
My team and I will be going to Cote d’Iviore, Ghana, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, India, Nepal, Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Nicaragua. Every month we will be partnering with the local missionaries and church community. Ministry could look like manual labor, preaching in churches, doing children’s ministry, working in a special needs home or elderly home, street evangelism, working against human trafficking, etc! It is all based on the needs of the country at the time.
It may sound crazy, and maybe it is, but I believe with my whole heart that the Lord has called me to do this. I believe the Holy Spirit has been leading me to the starting line of the race over the past four years. That in itself has been a journey because it is the most courageous YES I have ever given the Lord.
My trip is going to cost $17,700 which will cover flight, accommodations, food, training camp, ministry costs and insurance for the 11 months. This is a big hill to climb, but I trust in the Lord’s faithfulness. I will be fundraising through the rest of this year to acquire the funds in different ways.
