Yes, last night I slept in the jungle in Panama. We had the awesome opportunity to go with team Pneuma out to a tribe and participate in their church service. Here is a step- by- step snapshot of our day:

1. Unpack bag and decide what to take when you go to the jungle for a night. (Decided TP, water, bug spray and tent were the essentials, although as you’ll notice, my bag still had a lot in it. )

2. Take truck out to a river.

3. Meet people who will take us up the river to the tribe.

4. Balance while sitting in a wobbly, wet canoe.

5. Take pictures and video so people back home will believe you.

6. Hike up to a house for lunch.

7. Cross river again to get to the side with the church.

8. Hike up steep hill and through the jungle to find the church.

9. Candlelit dinner (no electricity out here of course!) of tamales, fried bread and meat.

10. Church service (generator allows one light bulb and microphones). Hold 2 month old baby, hug cute children.

11. Set up tents (after finding a huge spider) and time for bed!

12. Wake up with more mosquito bites, hike out, canoe back to trucks and pile in!

It will be so fun to look back on this adventure next Christmas Eve and remember our wonderful times in Panama! Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year!
