Once upon a time
in the land of Cambodia there was a man buy the name of Vuthy. He was a village driver that worked hard for his living. He was an honest man and he strived to honor his family in all he did. While he was working he drove a lot of people that seamed different to him. (Other than the fact that they were foreigners to this land). So as he drove them around his city he would ask them why they were there. Often the people would say that they had received orders from their King to go out and share His love with all the people that they met along the way. Now if this had been a onetime response Vuthy might have thought it silly and continued his life the way it was. But it was said by so many people, so many times that he started to wonder if this King was someone he might want to meet. So as the days went by Vuthy began to search for a way to meet this King as he had lots of questions to ask. After a lot of searching he found that the King had been right there all the time and was just waiting for him to come. Once he entered into the court of the King, Vuthy knew that he never wanted to leave or be apart from his King again. The King charged Vuthy to go to school to get some training and then to return to his home town to spread the King’s love to those people. It was very hard in the beginning as Vuthy was the only one loyal to the King in the town. But he worked hard and the King gave him strength as he had need of it. Soon young people were entering the court of the King as well and they began to meet to honor the King each week. At this time the King began to change Vuthy’s heart and he became passionate to tell the youth and young children about the King. The best way to do this was found by meeting a need the town had: to give free English classes. The classes began to grow and the King was providing for every need, sometimes through the people that would come help him teach the classes, and other times through gifts meant for building more classrooms.
A few years have passed and this is when I met up with Vuthy. I have seen the King at work in all that is being done here. Each time I talk with Vuthy I am amazed at how Amazing our King is. Now being the woman that the King made me I love to read and wish everyone shared my passion for it as well. One day Vuthy and I were talking and he shared with me a new charge that the King had given to him: to build a library. I am very excited for this new thing as it will help the students to learn English as well as provide more opportunities to share the King’s love with them.
As I leave Vuthy and all that the King is doing here my heart is glad to see faith truly being lived out. If it is in the King’s plans for me I will try to help in any way I can so this little town becomes a beacon of the King’s love for this country.
The End
P.S. Even though this story is told in a fun way the need is real. If any of you have any used or new books that you are not using anymore please pray about sending them here to Cambodia. Children’s books here are expensive and as the school Vuthy is running is free so are the books and he provides all of it.
