How did I end up planning to go on an eleven month mission trip you might be wondering?

Well to tell you this I will have to start back at when I was about 11 or 12 years old.

As a little girl I was involved in a girls program at my church called Missionettes (now called Girl’s Ministry). At different times we would have events we could go to, some of them being visiting Missionaries  talking about their lives on the mission field. I remember sitting there listening to the lady talk and getting this overwhelming feeling that I would be doing that very thing in my future. As time went on I would forget about it and something would happen or something would be said that would remind me if that feeling. This happened so many times throughout the years growing up that it just became a part of who I was. I was a girl that knew that someday, somehow I was going to be a missionary.

I had a plan. I was going to go to school to become a nurse and then I would be able to do medical missions. Now if you remember I was homeschooled so I wanted to start off slow and get used to what college was like. I went for two semesters. God had a different plan!

I ended up in a discipleship program. Again I had a plan. I was going to do that for two years and then go back to school. God’s plan was different. I stayed for three years, at the end of which I was given the opportunity to enter a missionary internship.

By now I figured that it was best to let God make all the plans and I was going to follow His leading. Which lead me to Beijing, China. Not sure where I would be going next. God placed people in my life that led me to this missions trip.

What happens next I place in God’s hands as that is the best place to be!!
