Its wild. Its June 10th…I found out I was accepted for the Race over 6 months ago and it felt like time would never pass. Now here we are just over 4 weeks away from training camp and just over 12 weeks from launch. Its just amazing!!
I will say this as sort of an update on how I’m doing and where I’m at: I didn’t think id already love my squad so much that id at times find myself more excited about them than about the Race itself. Ive been allowing and inviting Papa to remind me why the World Race first burned in my heart. Its amazing to connect with the people ill be going with but thats not why Im going. It was so sweet of the Lord to draw that to my attention and give me the chance to get excited with Him the way I was when I first thought the Race could be a possibility.
With all of that being said, heres the part where we do the happy dance together! So far I’ve gotten my tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, pillow, pack & packing cubes, pack rain cover, daypack, chacos, and hammock!!! In case you are unsure of how to interpret that: ITS AWESOME!!!! Thank you to everyone who has literally given these items as gifts/donations!
Im still in need of help though 🙂 Ive put together a list of the gear and equipment that I have yet to get.
The ones with “*” beside them are the ones that are needed before I leave for training camp on July 12th…the rest can wait until launch in September (or if y’all are feeling extremely generous than I wouldn’t mind having it all early too!)
