He forgave us….so why is it we can’t forgive ourselves or others? I’m reminded of the scripture:
“This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Jesus Christ.” Romans 3:22-24
Wow….what a powerful message!! We are ALL equal in HIS sight and each and every one of us have sinned. WE ALL FALL SHORT!! All He asks is if we have faith in Him to believe we are truly forgiven for our sins. We need to believe He really loves each and every person on an individual basis.
God doesn’t look at “Daryl’s” sin any greater or lesser than “Joe’s” sin. When we come to terms with this we understand more of HIS love….UNCONDITIONAL….agape love! Self-sacrifice!! He sent his OWN SON to die for YOU and ME!!
Have you really ever sat on that one and let it marinate?!?
Could you imagine sacrificing someone you love…your own blood…so others could receive forgiveness and an opportunity to be a part of a greater love?
It’s time to STOP thinking about past mistakes, failures, “what if’s”….accept them for what they were…a detour in your path….a path that brought you to where you are today…made you into the person you ARE to become. If you feel like you aren’t going anywhere…then maybe it’s time to re-evaluate what you are doing. “God loves you just the way you are, but He refuses to leave you that way. He wants you to be just like Jesus.”~ Max Lucado. It’s time to stop blaming others and constantly bringing up the hurts someone caused years and years ago…just forgive and I promise you will feel such freedom…why can’t you forgive them, but Jesus can forgive them?
I always like to say, ” I don’t live in the past, but I visit it frequently to see how far I’ve come and the place God has brought me.” If you are reading this and thinking…”I don’t know….I just don’t think God can forgive my sins….” Let me tell you…Let go and let God take them from you! I know He has forgiven my mess of sins. He WILL forgive you…all you have to do is ask!
Someone once told me our “test” is our testimony and our “mess” is our message. 🙂 Don’t let satan rob you of your testimony or message!! If God brings you to it…best better believe…He WILL bring you through it!!
He forgave me…I forgave myself….DO YOU?!
