One of my favorite places in the Daughters Center is the prayer room.  It is on the top floor and you can look out the window and see part of the neighborhood.  Daughters is located basically in the center of the red light district.  Granted by day, I would have no idea that there are brothels all around.  I wonder what it is like at night.  I would like to wander at night around there but I won’t–I promise!

Anyways, the other day our team was up in the prayer room at the usual time in the afternoon praying for the people and work of Daughters.  I happened to glance out the window at the rooftops of the community and immediately thought “GOD can definitely change this community.”  God reminded me of when Jesus talked to the Samaritan woman at the well in John 4:1-40.  What a beautiful story of unconditional love and the ripple affect change.
The section that pops out at me is John 4:39-42
Many of the Samaritans from that village committed themselves to him because of the woman’s witness: “He knew all about the things I did. He knows me inside and out!” They asked him to stay on, so Jesus stayed two days. A lot more people entrusted their lives to him when they heard what he had to say. They said to the woman, “We’re no longer taking this on your say-so. We’ve heard it for ourselves and know it for sure. He’s the Savior of the world!”

That one woman left the well and went back to her home and because of her witness her whole town was changed.  I truly believe that can happen here in this red-light district in Cambodia.  I truly believe that.
