So, a question for you…Are you one of those people who anticipates what is coming and counts down the days, hours and seconds for three months prior? Or are you a person that just lives life one day at a time, enjoying life in this moment?
Over the last few months people have constantly asked me if I’m excited for this up-coming trip. You are probably thinking that I have always responded with a resounding “YES!” but the honest truth is that I always feel so awkward answering this question. Why? Well, I am one of those people who lives very much in the moment and if the time of the event occurring is longer than a week I’m pretty much not thinking about it. It is too far away in the future and there is so much to enjoy right now! Sounds horrible, doesn’t it? I guess for me that an event just doesn’t feel “real” until it is super close. So, I do responding saying that I’m excited about this trip but that is just isn’t quite real that I’m actually traveling overseas and going to the places that we will be going to.
Well, I am starting to feel the excitement rise within me–finally! I finally made my reservations for my flight from Buffalo to Seattle and my hotel reservation for the Friday night that I need to stay in Seattle. That made it pretty real. (Can I just tell you that I’m thankful for air miles? What a treat for me and easy on the pocketbook!) Then the fact that my last day at work with be Friday makes it pretty real. After Friday I know that it will hit me full force and my mind will finally switch and start to fully focus on this trip.
So, ask me again in a few weeks if I’m excited about this trip and I guarantee that my answer will be a resounding “YES!”
