So, one thing that I thoroughly enjoy is playing
cards…Shang, 3/13’s, Hand and Foot (all compliments of Amanda, Thomas, Halle
and Kathy in Nicaragua!), Dutch Blitz, Nerts. I
can play for hours and definitely like to win. I’ll be honest, playing cards is
something I greatly miss.
Well, when we got to Thailand we found out there were other
groups also volunteering at SHE.
Our first Saturday here I stayed back from going out in the evening to
eat just to rest since I still wasn’t 100% feeling that great. Well, let me tell you, that was one of
the best decisions and one I will never regret! I was so excited that I stayed back because I found a group from
the other teams that likes to play cards and really get into it too! To say the least we have made time to
play a game here and there in our schedule over the last few days…even putting
off sleep! (and there isn’t much that I put off sleep for!! )
As I sat with them playing cards that Saturday night I felt
like God was reminding me that He knows me best and He knew that I needed to
connect with people and that I needed to play some cards. He looks out for the big things and
those small details-the ones that we think are insignificant!
Even though this newfound group of friends is leaving
tonight I am thankful for a few days of cards. My heart is happy….
