“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9, NLT)
These verses are a perfect description of my life. I was just writing a note to a friend and wrote about how my life is absolutely nothing like I had planned or dreamed about as a teen. Truly, there is very little that has happened that I had anticipated or dreamed of when I was daydreaming about the future. I never thought that I would travel to so many countries or live overseas. I never thought that I would learn to speak Spanish. I never dreamed that I would be traveling overseas to work in anti-human trafficking. So many things that were not on my radar by any means. However, looking back now, the honest truth is that I wouldn’t have had it any other way. The adventure that God has taken me over the years has blown me away and humbled me, causing me to wonder–“Why Me?” I guess that I’ll never know but I’ll keep enjoying the adventure where He takes me!
