I have some news!
This month in Bolivia my team has the pretty huge privilege of not knowing what we’re doing.
Well, we do.
Sort of.
We do not have a ministry contact. We do not have set a place to stay after the first week. We do not have a schedule. We do not have much of anything set in stone really.
But what we do have is a chance to trust God in a huge way.
Ask The Lord month is something AIM does occasionally with squads and teams, and it is exactly what it sounds like.
We are going to Bolivia to Ask The Lord what He wants us to do there.
I think it’s going to be incredible.
I don’t know exactly what it’s going to look like for everyday or where we’re going to start exactly.
But I know God loves it when we put ourselves in situations where He has to come through big time, because those situations are a magnificent display of His glory.
The other night during some quality team time, we went around in a circle and each said our own version of, “Yes, I buy in to this month.” I told God and my team, “I say yes to this month. I say yes to risking a giant flop for the chance of crazy God things, over staying safe and comfortable and relying on what I can do.”
This month feels super scary, but I don’t think that’s a bad thing.
I am willing to risk this being the worst month ever for the chance that it will be the best month ever.
I believe God is ready and waiting to give His kids good gifts, we just have to ask for them!
So tomorrow morning we board a 25 hour bus ride that will take us all the way to La Paz, Bolivia, where we will be staying for 1 week before flopping into the unknown. We pretty much have no idea what this month is going to hold, but I am so so excited to find out what it is.
Here are some things you can pray for:
· Team unity: This month has the potential to be stressful. We have no plan… enough said. Also, given the uncertainty of housing/food/travel, there is the potential for an extra expensive month on the same tight World Race budget. We will need to make decisions as a team and depend on one another to show up every day ready to seek God.
· Favor: I know God has something amazing for us in Bolivia. Pray that we would find it! Pray for favor in being led to the right people and places, pray for favor in housing and travel and forming connections.
· Clarity: Bolivia is going to be a crash course in hearing the Lord. Our team has started practicing listening prayer and we all really want to come to know the voice of the Holy Spirit even more clearly and definitely than we ever have before. Pray we would hear the Lord individually and as a team.
· Courage: Pray that we would not lose heart or become discouraged during this month. Pray that we would trust trust trust the Lord, even when we cannot see what He is doing. Pray that we would step out in faith and boldness.
· Exceeded expectations: Pray that God would use this month to shatter our perceptions of Him, to reveal Himself in all the fullness of His glory more clearly.
Thank you for all the support and prayers! I am going to need them more than ever for this next month of growing in faith and trust.
Talk to you soon 🙂
