So, some of you may have heard but I am currently doing a fundraising campaign that includes shaving my head if I get fully funded for G42 at the end of the day tomorrow. The whole idea was $6,000 in 6 days or 6n6. Catchy, I know.
I anticipated the reaction from people and how different the reactions might be. I expected to keep tabs on it so that by tonight I would have a relatively good idea as to whether or not I would actually be shaving my head later this week.
Well, like God always does, He surprised me when I realized that I would literally have no way of knowing how the funds were going until tomorrow night (they update the accounts once a week on tuesdays, of course). So, I will be just as surprised as everyone else come tomorrow night once I get home from work. I chose Valentine's Day because when God shows up it will be another reminder of just how much He loves me. I chose to shave my head as a partial motivation for people to give (I mean, who DOESN'T want to see someone shave their head for a good cause) but mostly because (1)shaving my head will remind me that my beauty does not come from outward appearances, (2) that the Grace of God is the place where I get my beauty, (3) a reminder that I bring nothing to God, but He provides the growth and life.
