For those interested in how I spend my time, this is a typical (if you can say that) day for me:

8:00 roll out of bed. Shower (maybe). Spend some much needed and much desired time with the Lord – reading, journaling, praying for the woman and asking for Christ’s heart for the day.

10:00 travel to the Well – 10 min walk followed by 12 min taxi ride

10:30 English class. Attempt to teach girls English. This usually involves me making a fool of myself several times. Including once when I yell over to Jenny “Where’s the verb in this sentence?!”

12:00 lunch time – spend some time with the girls or walk to seven (that is 7-11). There is one on every street corner. The perfect air conditioned retreat from the heat. This is also when I try to avoid being offered any meat (only because I don’t really like meat) or spicy Thai food. I secretly try to eat my food of choice – the PB&J sandwich.

1:00 Time to start work – making cards. I cut paper usually. Sometimes they let me glue. Here is a picture of my first complete cards. Don’t worry, they will not actually sell my product. We were just investigating some color schemes.

2:30 We usually depart from the Well at this time.

3:00 Free time! Sometimes all I can do is a take a nap. But I usually try to get some things done – wash my clothes, write emails or blogs, read, clean up, jump rope (this is rare), or work on team finances (this is my favorite).

5:00 Get ready to head out for outreach. We grab a taxi to the supermarket for a quick dinner.

6:00 Head to the BTS (Bangkok Sky Train) and travel to our bar destinations.

7:00 We are usually at the bars by this time. We hang out there for a couple hours, talking and having fun with the women. I love this! It is the highlight of my day. The women are so incredible!! (and sometimes we see random elephants walking down the street).

9:30ish Walk back to the BTS and make the trip home – BTS, followed by a taxi.

10:15 We are home. Now we hang out and share some stories from the day. More time to check email, skype, journal about the day, pray for the women, read.

12:00 Hopefully I am asleep, but this is not always the case. I think I am still on Africa time. Sometimes if we pay a girl’s bar fine for the night, we don’t get back until this time, so that we can spend more time with her.
