Got to hold on to what He’s got.
Cause it doesn't make a difference if I fail or not.
I've got my Father and that's a lot.
For Him, I’ll give it a shot.
Ohhh I’m halfway there.
Ohhh livin on a prayer.
Take His hand and I'll make it – He swears.
Ohhh livin on a prayer.
Livin on a prayer.
I've got to hold on, ready or not.
I live for my God; He's all that I've got!

{My version of Bon Jovi's Livin On A Prayer}

The past few weeks I’ve been trying to do it alllll by myself {cause I think I can do that}.  Today, I learned a valuable lesson about being a control freak.

I have been subbing the past few weeks and this week is Spring Break.  My tonsils need to be yanked out, so tomorrow was the designated day.  This was scheduled so I would only have to miss about a week of subbing.  However, due to a breakdown in communication, my cardiologist never received the forms to give me surgery clearance.  With no clearance there is no surgery. {My pesky tonsils have celebrated by swelling and causing me pain. Bummers}

I took this news in the form of a minor freak out:

{Yelling at myself in my own head} Ahhhh!  Now I will have to miss two weeks of subbing!  That’s a lot of money!  Good gracious!! How am I going to pay my student loans?  I can’t miss out on that much money!  How am I going to buy gear? Ohh man!  What am I going to do about money???

But God reminded me:

Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Matthew 6:26

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.  Philippians 4:6

And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19

Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

Today was just a sweet little reminder that God is in control and I am not.  He is going to take care of me and provide for me.  You know why?  Because His love for me is unending and I am His precious daughter.

Until all have heard,

Julie
