A Day in the Life: Romania
Wake-up around 9AM and eat some breakfast. Woohoo! There is some Romanian Nutella left. Make coffee with the Jacobs 3-n-1 packets (these are delicious!). Get ready, have quiet time and head to the church.
Prayer intercession from 10AM-12PM. The first 30 minutes is a jam sesh/worship time. Then we pray for the church, the local town, missionaries, and Romania as a whole. Raul, the missionary contact, leads intercession. He is full of wisdom! If you are lucky enough to get alone time to talk with him, then milk it for all it is worth.
Lunch at noon. Sandwiches, chips, cookies and Coke. Again. I eat a salami and cheese sandwich. I am so thankful for Coke- even though I know my mother would be very unhappy that I am drinking it… every day. YES! Someone bought the good cookies: cookie with the bottom dipped in chocolate.
Go outside to eat my lunch. Little Kitty meows loudly. Feed her salami. Kelsey feeds her cat food. Play with Little Kitty and sing Soft Kitty song to her.
Round up the troops. Walk to the church to meet Daniel {a local missionary}.
Cut the grass behind the church with a weed whacker OR do some type of manual labor.
Pile in Daniel’s car and head to Coteana. Laugh at Jeff driving the car, because he is so big and the car is not. Roll the window down and ponder life as we drive. Take in the beauty of the endless sunflower fields. Pinch myself. Is this real life?
Arrive in Coteana. Gather the kids. Eat weird fruit off the trees. Whoa- that stuff is sour. Go inside the school room and sing a few songs. Play a game with the kids. Daniel tells them a bible story. Ask them questions about the story and give them candy. Run outside and play Red Light, Green Light… and maybe musical chairs.
Walk kids home and drive to another part of town. Park the car. Walk down the streets and evangelize. Hand out pamphlets and CDs. Talk to locals and remember to have patience when the translator gets into deep conversation. Meet back at the car and head back to Draganesti.
Walk back to mission house.
Lay in hammock and read. Goof off with Kara and Rene. Laugh, talk and love on Little Kitty until dinner time. Eat wonderful meal.
More laughing. Lay in Hammock City.
Walk to Sunset Hill to watch the sunset. Speechless at Papa’s creation. Try multiple times to get a picture of us jumping in the air with the sunset behind us. Unsuccessful.
Stop by the store for a Sprite.
Team time.
Lose at Dutch Blitz. Keep playing Dutch Blitz. Keep losing at Dutch Blitz.
Get ready for bed.
Read.
Get a bedtime story from Kara Kitterman. Laugh with Kara and Rene. Can’t fall asleep because I am laughing too much. Finally fall asleep. Wake up half way on Kara’s bed. Go back to sleep. Wake up because there are so many flies. Go back to sleep.
Repeat.
