A Day in the Life: Moldova {Video + Blog}

Moldova was such a great month for my team! We were incredibly blessed by our host family and the children we were able to work with.
Each day, two people on our team would stay home to cook meals and clean the house. The two that stayed home would venture to the market to get food for that day's meals. We were blessed to have a fresh outdoor market to shop at. Our meals this month were healthy and delicious! We even had French toast with peaches one evening.
When it wasn't my day to stay home, I would wake up and have quiet time. We would start construction work around nine in the morning. Work last until one in the afternoon and we would have a break with our favorite sodas and cookies halfway through.
At 1pm we would head back to the house for lunch. We typically had sandwiches or pasta and veggies.
During the afternoons, we would have team time and free time. Having the afternoons to rest gave us the unique opportunity to really get to know each other. One of my favorite activities we did was a relay and trivia team time event. Christian, Jeff and I were on a team against Aubray, Mary and David. We totally dominated. {Just saying :)}
Between 4:30-5:00 we would head to the House of Prayer {church} for kids ministry. We would play games, sing songs and do an interactive bible lesson. I really enjoyed the days I got to teach the lesson. We had a blast acting out the story of Zacchaeus and the kids loved to sing My God Is So Big.
We would arrive home at around 8:30. There was always a delicious dinner waiting on us. I loved eating together as a team every evening.
After dinner, there would be team time or free time. My favorite nights were when we would watch movies together or just spend time talking and laughing.
One of my favorite things of this month was camping. Andrei, our contact, took our team on a four day camping trip. I believe this trip was a pivotal bonding moment for our team. We had the opportunity to disconnect from the outside world and focus on our relationships with each other and our Heavenly Father. I loved late night conversations by the campfire and roasted corn on the cob!
