Time to switch things up again! We recently finished our second to last squad debrief: Month 8 Debrief in Chiang Mai, Thailand. To maintain squad health, there have been numerous team changes throughout these last eight months, with major team changes and squad leader changes made at the beginning of this month during Debrief. For me, this new team will be my fifth! My third team, Intimate Grace (with Missy Hollinger, Amanda Fackler, Nathan Hatton, Dan Loghry, and Chase Glantz), has by far been my favorite team on The Race because we embodied a family unit, had a ton of fun together, and loved each other well … for the most part (no team is perfect!). Therefore, I was quite sad to see the breakup of that team, but I know God has other plans for the rest of my Race. (Don’t get me wrong, though … I prayed almost every day to be on a team with them again for these remaining three months).
God has been teaching me about family while I have been on The Race. Each team I have been a part of has taught me something different, such as sacrifice, preferring others, letting go of selfish ways, loving unconditionally, sustaining relationships, trust, humility, submitting to authority (AKA: my team leader), being flexible, showing empathy and compassion, being vulnerable, safety, patience, and freedom in Christ. I catch myself comparing my other teams to Intimate Grace, but I know that season was just for a short two months, and there are others things God wants to teach me with this new team. This team will embody family, but in a different way. We are a solid team, and I am excited to see what our dynamics will look like. What I do know, is that this team knows how to have fun together!

(Alys loves basketball)

level-headed, compassionate, and calm
(Jo loves to fly in planes)

(Sisk loves the beach)

Mark Rowdon – introspective, humorous, and observant

Wes Vickers – outspoken, generous, and bold

P.S. Our team name, Relentless Pursuit, was chosen because we have three months left of our Races. We can either choose to press in to this team and the Lord to the best of our abilities or have regrets at the end of The Race because we “checked out” and missed opportunities.
