Rwanda is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Who knew?! This month has been an interesting one but I love it. We are working with Victory Mission Church with Pastor John. He doesn't speak much English so you can imagine the number of miscommunications. He is so great though. I love the people in the church. The first Sunday Pastor kept saying what I thought was "It's a Shame" and I was so very confused because it didn't fit. It took me a good hour and a half to figure out he was saying Praise the Lord and it just sounded like it's a shame haha.
We have had a really good month of teaching English. In the mornings we teach kids, I am with Jill and sometimes Kelly and we teach the little bitty ones. We go over flashcards and then we sing lots of fun songs with them. It brings so much joy to my heart. And the kids love it. They are precious. In the evening we teach another English class at a youth center. Most of them know decent English but want to know more grammar so my teammate Katie has been so wonderful looking up stuff to teach like Past Perfect, Present Simple….stuff that I honestly don't know myself 🙂 Sometimes thrown in the mix we do hospital visits in the afternoon. But basically we get to teach English and share the love of Jesus with people every day. Life is good.
My FAVORITE thing about this month is walking down the street (which is all the time, at least twice a day) and random kids running full speed towards us with their arms wide open, jumping into our arms for a hug. It is the sweetest thing. I'm pretty sure kids in America would never do that! It really is my favorite part of each day and I look forward to it. Kids we've never seen or talked to will run to us. And of course we have some kids that we see everyday and they are so excited everytime they see us. I will never understand why I am so blessed and why I get to be here in Rwanda doing what I'm doing. God is so good.
Another cool thing I want to tell you about happened on one of our off days. We had went into town and stopped in a clothing store. The guy that worked the door knew we were missionaries because my teammates that had left already left. I was waiting by the door waiting for the rest of my team and he started talking to me. Then the craziest thing happened. He asked me to tell him about Jesus! So guess what I did? Yep- shared the Gospel with Jean Claude in the middle of the Mr. Price store. Pretty awesome right?! Another highlight of my month.
So yeah…I'm awful at keeping up with my blog so I just wanted to send a little update about what I've been doing this month. Thank you so much for your prayers and encouraging words. They mean so much to me!

My two best friends this month 🙂 Love them!!
