These past two months have been filled with a lot of things. I have laughed a lot. I have sung a lot. I have danced a lot. (like, a lot) And I have cried a lot too. God is still continuing to walk me through a lot of healing; I think apart of the reason I came on the world race was so God could just heal me from wounds I didn’t even realize I had. So here is a story about one of the ways God has showed me that:

A couple weeks ago I saw this little girl at one of the meals at our ministry site. Turns out, we had actually met before at the last meal. Her name is Diosanna. She recognized me from the few weeks prior and ran up to me and jumped into my arms. She looked me in the eyes and said in Spanish something along the lines of, “I remember you from last time; You are the girl whose favorite color is blue.” (My Spanish is not the greatest thing you’ve ever heard, so I talk with kids about little simple things like our favorite colors, animals, and stuff like that). I felt strangely loved and so known in that moment when she remembered my favorite color. I squeezed her tighter and she pressed her cheek against mine. As I held her, our ministry host walked up to me, smiled, and said, “you know it is cool because her name is Diosanna which literally translates to, ‘God heals’.” I immediately teared up as I held her because I felt that the presence of the Lord was so near to me. He was embracing me. God cares about all of the little things. Even my favorite color. And he used Diosanna to speak to me his promise. He has promised to heal me. It doesn’t mean that I have to know all of the right steps in order to get there to be healed. He sees me and knows me.

I am thankful to have had the opportunity to work with this Ministry called Pan de Vida in Ecuador. Their mission is to meet the needs of people while also spreading the gospel. What they do is important because it goes so far beyond just feeding people or giving people groceries. They literally share the love of Christ with people and are genuinely caring for different peoples’ specific needs’. It is amazing and humbling to watch. I am excited to see the different ways that they impact the kingdom of God.

Sad day update:

On another note, I lost my phone last week (which hasn’t been my favorite thing to happen). SO I apologize for the delayed posts and responses. It definitely is sad to have lost all of my pictures and notes and such, but it is not the end of the world either, and it is teaching me to really appreciate the moments as they happen, because I only get to see them in the moment and not later.

Travel UPDATE:We have been traveling for almost 5 days now and we are headed to the jungle in Peru. Last night, we made it to our hostel, and ordered some pizza, then ate it on the roof. It was a good ending to a really long day. Today we will sleep in the airport in Lima, and then fly to Iquitos in the morning. I am beyond excited for what God has for us there. Also, I am terrified of what God has for us there. This journey is challenging, but it’s really good.

We will not be together as a squad this month, but instead, we are all split up into our separate teams. Please be praying for my team. That we would all grow together to become more like Jesus and honor Him with our time here in Peru.

Thanks for following along.
