When you are on the World Race there are a lot of situations that you have the choice to say yes or no to!!!

Before I left for the race I decided that I was going to live everyday with a YES!! And God has opened so many amazing doors from just saying Yes!!

Today I am going to write a small list of what he has done so far in our first week in Côte d’Ivoire because I have said YES:

  • Get to be an real life African Barbie Doll (let the ladies of the community dress you in traditional African clothing and have so much joy that you want to dress like an African)
  • Learn how to dance traditional African Dances (all you have to do is jump in and say yes even if you look silly)
  • Bring out the guitar that you are teaching yourself how to play and  play in front  of people (it will bring a lot of smiles)
  • When your host asks you to lead worship in front of an entire conference with your guitar Say Yes
  • TRY NEW FOODS (even when they look funny and smell funny)
  • Get to ride in the back of a motorcycle (it is a lot of fun and saves you a lot of time)
  • Talk to people even if you do not speak French ( thumbs up and smiles speak more than all the words sometimes)
  • Let people serve you (the joy that it brings is contagious and then you get your foot in to a new friendship)
  • Don’t ask questions just go and do it
  • Hold All the children’s hands and smile
  • When you are the Main Event for a Parade all you have to do to gather a crowd is dance, smile, and wave
  • Try to speak French ( even if you fail or you speak more in Spanish it will make many people smile and laugh)
  • Do The Best That You Can ( it goes a long way and that is relationships start)

This is just the beginning !!!! The Best is yet to come and I am so excited to see what God is going to do this month!!!

Love
