Yes I am talking about the “F” word because it is something thing that needs to be talked about…..
FUTURE
Yes the FUTURE is something that I have now wanted to talk about. BUT TODAY IS A NEW DAY!!
Well we are officially in Month 11 of the World Race and the “future” keeps butting it’s head in.
You see before the race I did not like to talk about change and the “F” word is a huge change! And not only a change but also for the first time I have no idea or control about what is to come!!
When I graduated highschool I knew that I would be attending college. When I graduated college I knew I would be going on the World Race. But you see the race is ending in just a few weeks and I do not know what the next step is for me!!
Now this has been something that was extremely scary for me. I have always known what I was going to do and now I have no idea!! Even when I have tried to plan out what I was going to do the Lord showed up and totally changed me plans…
So, Julia why are you telling us all of this??

We are in Indonesia and today is a holiday so there was not a scheduled ministry today so my team and I as well as some of our new Indonesian friends (we met them today and it was so much fun) went on a hike to see waterfalls!!
As we were walking to the waterfalls we got to a point where we had to make a decision to either stop where we were or to go over a bamboo woven bridge.
My first thoughts were, “WOW if this was just 10 months ago I would have turned around. But today I am excited to see where this adventure takes me!!” So we moved on to more and more bridges and we saw two different waterfalls!! It was the most AMAZING AND BEAUTIFUL thing!
Just as I was though our hiking was over we started to walk uphill and we ended up in a tea plantation.
From the top all we could see was tea and it looked like a maze with pathways through out the plants!!
Now this is where the Lord really got my attention!!
As we were walking I was just amazed by all of the rows and the little paths that did not make any sense….. To Me…
But what the Lord showed me is that this is what my FURURE looks like. A MAZE of turns and loops and that the only one that knows how to get out is the one person that made the maze.
In my life and future that is the Lord. He showed me in a tangible way that, Yes I could have it my “way” and try to plan my Future. But in the long run I am going to get lost in the maze.
But if I leave my future up to him he will show me the way to turn left and right and when to go strait and when to just stop and pause and look back to see where you have been.
What I have been working on the past week and a few days is that my future is not in my control. That the Lord has a great plan for me and my job is to just follow his directions.
He has given me many little looks into the future on where I will be and what I might be doing but there is not a tangible way to “get there”. But right now all I am doing is walking forward until he tells me to turn, stop, or to change my direction!
I am excited to see how all of the “hints” he has gave me will come true but as for now I am beyond happy to just be walking with the Lord everyday!!!
