During this month, we have had many different ministry opportunities. One of the challenging but also exciting ministries was working with the community inside of San Salvador where the church we are working with was creating a soccer field.

When we first got to the field that we were told that was going to the soccer field, we were shocked when we arrived at a plot of land that just looked like a big field with grass and trees. But the community members knew what they were doing and they started with their machetes making a path to the back where we were going to start. That is where the worked began. We stared just cutting and throwing all of the brush off of the side of a cliff. This was tough because it was hot and it was a lot of work but it was so much fun!!! After the first day, more than half the field was cut down in just a few hours and it was amazing.

The next Saturday was when we started on the next part of the field!! We started cutting down more and more brush, grass, and trees and at one point I was bring the brush to the end and I forgot that there was a ledge because all of the excess brush was at the end and I fell off the edge of the cliff. Thankfully there was enough brush sitting on the ground covering the cliff that it caught me so I did not fully off into nowhere!!! But I jumped back up from the cliff and continued and finished the rest of the field.

This past Saturday was when we needed to finish the field so that we could have a huge party on the field on Sunday. So, our host had some family issues that were going on so they were not going to make it until that afternoon so we decided as a team that we would go and work on the field so that when they got there that the work would already be started. We finished that day and there was officially a field.

On Sunday, we had a party for the community. We set up a soccer court, made about 300 pupusas (El Salvadorian tortillas filled with cheese and beans) and just shared the gospel with the community. This was such an exciting time because God really showed me that he is working on this city and that even though it might seem that what is happening is little that it really is just the sprouting of something bigger.

Also I am still need about 3,000 more dollars to be fully funded so if you feel lead to donate please do. BUT MY TEAM WOULD ALSO LOVE YOUR PRAYER !!! WE ARE TRAVELING TO GUATEMALA ON SATURDAY FOR OUR NEXT HOST AND WE ARE EXCITED BUT ALSO SAD TO BE LEAVING EL SALVADOR AND OUR HOST!!!!
