You got that right Dengue Fever!! And who is the lucky one with this?? JULIA !!
But on a more serious note I do have dengue fever.
This is a mosquito illness that makes you have high fevers, really bad headaches, painful body aches, a rash over your entire body and just a lot of weakness.
Doesn’t sound like a great thing to have during the last few weeks of the World Race!! NOT!! But you know what the Lord has met me during this!
The Lord has met me while I was feeling my worst and reassured me that I was ok. He has met me and shown me the healing that he does! He has met me at the doctors appointments where my blood was taken to check my blood counts. He has met me as I rest and he has given me a lot of peace.
So Julia what does Ministry look like with dengue?
Well it looks different then I originally was planning that’s for sure!! I thought that I would be going to do beach ministry to tourist, and walking the streets speaking to people.
But right now it looks like sitting in a coffee shop or restaurant in the shade or in air conditioning writing little notes for people my team mates will be going and talking to. It looks like a lot of time speaking and processing with the Lord. It looks like writing notes to squad mates. It looks like taking the time to rest and drinking A LOT OF WATER.
But you know what the Lord has really great plans and I know that the time that I am spending with him is going to be rewarded greatly!!
And his healing is coming! Yesterday my blood counts were up so I no longer have to go and get them checked. I have enough energy to walk to a coffee shop and sit there for a while. I have an appetite to eat some really great Indonesian food. And I am feeling the best I have in a week!!
So that is where I am at right now in Indonesia with 11 days before returning to the USA.
Where I could use prayer right now would be in full healing and full energy back from my dengue!! In a really great last week with my family for the past year! And that the transition home is smooth!!
