This week has been such a fun week with new ministries, adventures, and fun!!

To start off this week we started going to a new school where I am teaching children from preschool to 6th grade how to cook!! This past Wednesday was the first day that we cooked!! If you did not know I graduated with a culinary degree in May and so the opportunity to cook with a whole bunch of kids is so exciting for me !!! So on Wednesday we made a Guatemalan version of an “apple pie” with apples, cinnamon sugar, and tortillas!! The kids had so much fun and it brought me so much joy and the laugher was infectious!!!

That afternoon a small group of my squad went to the Central Park near where we are staying and we brought signs that said free hugs, bubbles, and a speaker with music to juat show the community of Chemaltimago the love of Jesus. It went so great most of the people that came up to us were children and they got so into the free hugs that they took the signs and were running around the square giving anyone and everyone a hug!! This was an amazing thing to see because they had no fear and the love of God was radiating off of them !!! This really brought Matthew 18:2-4 to life, with having a childlike faith!!!

Lastly this morning my ministry group went to the library that we have been in all moth and we helped the librarian with a school group that was visiting today!! We did not know that we would be helping but when we got there she asked if we could play a game with the kids. Now with a LARGE languag barrier all we could think of was repeated after me songs…. so that is what we did!! We sang Head, Sholders, Knees, and Toes, the Hokey Pokey, Peel Banana Song, and Father Abraham. To say that we had fun was and understatement!!

Sometimes ministery does not always look like what you are guessing it would!! BUT IN THOES INSTANCES IT IS EVEN BETTER THEN I COULD EXPECT!!
