When leaving for my trip to Nepal I had no idea what to expect about anything at all. And I knew that I would be asked a lot of questions for my teammates about many different things. But one of the last questions that I thought that I would be asked was “Will You Cut My Hair”.

One of the first weeks in Nepal that is the question that I was asked by one of my teammates Sean.

But let me tell you, I have never been trained or taken a class in hair cutting. EVER!!! All I know is from watching others or YouTube !!

As I told him this he said, “That’s Ok, I Trust You”.

So that night he pulled out his beard trimmers and his hair scissors and off I went cutting his hair. When I finished it was not as short as he would have liked but the lines were strait, his part was “fresh” and his hair was trimmed. So he was happy.

After I finished that night I knew that this would not be the last time that I would be cutting someone’s hair in Nepal. So the next off day I adventured out and invested in a pair of Nepali “professional” hair clippers for a grand total of $15.

And I was definitely correct in the statement that Sean’s hair cut was not going to be the last. From that day on Julia’s Hair Salon was open. Now unlike most salons Julia’s is open at different hours and changes locations. Some days it might be open from 10pm-12am and the location might be in our living room, on the roof, or in the basement. And Julia’s Hair Salon has been open for many of my teammates. There have been small little trims to some pretty extreme cuts.

Last night was one of the extreme cut nights. It started with cutting 8 inches off my teammate Hannah’s Hair. Then it continued to cutting both men’s hair, Sean and James, with my clippers.

Now as I stated before this is not what I was expecting to do in Nepal. But the ministry that I have been able to have with my team has been exactly what I did not know I needed.

From the the fun laughter conversations to the more serious conversations the Lord has really used this time to grow some of the relationships with my teammates.

But the most impactful to me is the the Lord has used me to speak life and encourage my team to seek after Him and really ask Him what He is saying to them. My team has been encouraged to seek Him though confidence, boldness, identity, and much more.

To see the fruit and then be able to physically act on ( cutting hair) His answer is something that I never expected to be doing in Nepal. but I have learned that this is something that I truly enjoy.

Now I am still looking for Donations for where my trip right now!!! Every little bit helps even if it is just $5 that is something that could be a huge difference!!!
