WE MADE IT TO AFRICA!!!!
This is a blog about travel days on the World Race!!!
We left our hostel in Nicaragua on the morning of Saturday December 3rd at 3:30 am to travel to the airport to start our travel day. From there we traveled to by plane to Miami Florida.

Oaks of Righteousness
In Miami we had a 5 hour layover!! After we went through customs we had some time before we could check in!! So the time came that we could go and get an American snack. THERE WAS A DUNKIN DONUTS !!!! I was able to get a donut and a coffee as we waited to check in!! Then we checked in and went to our gate!!! I was able to grab snacks and food at the gate and waited to get on the plane!
Our next stop was Portugal!! We boarded our plane at 6:30 pm and started our next adventure to Portugal!!! We arrived in Portugal at 5am there time and our 15 hour layover started!!! We got through customs and we started our adventure day in Lisbon Portugal!!
We started with our day with Starbucks and planed our day with the WiFi!! Then we went on a metro train from the airport to the center of Lisbon where we caught a Hop on Hop off tour bus for the day!! We traveled all around the historic and beautiful parts of Lisbon that included a castle on the water, a large bridge, a small little village that was a Christmas Wonderland, and so much more!! We had a great time and even got to see the sunset over the Praça do Comércio (a large body on water in Lisbon). We then traveled back to the airport on another metro train!!! We went through customs, ate dinner and then boarded our last and final plane to Côte d’Ivoire Africa.

We boarded our plane at 11:30 pm and landed in Côte d’Ivoire at 5:30am!! We were greeted by the country host Simon and some of the other hosts. We then were informed that we would be staying with Simon and his family for the night and then travel to our village that we would be doing ministry in the next day!!
When we first stoped and were told that this is where we were getting off we were at a big lake surrounded by sand!! We unloaded all of our bags and we then found our that we would be traveling to Simon’s village by boat for the night!!! We then loaded all of our bags and belongings on the large boats and off we went to Simons village. We stayed there for the night and the next morning we got up at 3:30am to start our adventure to our ministry location!!
We first got on a boat again with all of our stuff and off we went to catch a taxi to the bus station!! At the bus station we waited for a couple of hours until our bus was ready and we got on the bus to Mephleu, our ministry location for the month!! Our bus ride was about 10 hours long with stops only to go to the bathroom!!
Quick side note African Bathroom stops consist of stoping and going to the bathroom on the side of the road with a lot of tall grass or just a whole in the ground!! All fun experiences for sure !!!
When we arrived in Mephleu we then had the journey of walking to the village that we were staying in!! When we arrived we meet all of the village and people is that we would be living with this month!!! The village took us in as there family from that very first day and they have such amazing hearts!!!
Let alone we have made it to Africa safe and sound!! No surprise we do not have access to WiFi this month except for once a week!!! So you will get to hear all about my journey from my great blogs every week!!! Yeah!!!!
LOVE YOU ALL
JULIA!!!!!!
