Have you ever been so in love with God that you cannot find the words to describe it? I think about this is so often that I am at a loss for words about the love of our Father.
These past few weeks, I have dove deeper into my relationship with God more than I ever have before. I find myself craving a deeper and deeper kind of love and satisfaction that can only be described as a love from another world. There is no love or emotion on this earth that can satisfy us the way God’s spirit does.
C.S. Lewis wrote, “if we find ourselves with a desire that nothing in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that we are made for another world.”
Can you imagine that? That you and I are made for another world. The longing that we so much crave for is all God’s doing– he created us with the intention to crave Him. He knew that when he created us that our hearts would look for satisfaction, for a spiritual filling that only his spirit can tame.
That longing is the result of our desire for Jesus to return and take us home with him. We are not made for this world; we are made to be in God’s Kingdom eternally. Earth is not our final destination.
God called us here to spread the news of his kingdom, so that we can live with him forever. He calls us to a place where sin does not exist, where harm does not live, where evil has no home. He calls us to His home– our home.
We must be awake and be ready. He could come at any time. Are you awake and ready?
