God promised to show me four things when I surrendered to His will and signed up for the World Race:

1: To show me how to love
2: To show me how to live
3: To teach me His Word
4: To give me the stage He sets for me

Allow me to elaborate, even though it goes completely against my character  ๐Ÿ˜€

The first promise “to show me how to love” really began before I even knew about this insane venture called the World Race. It boils down to the fact that I was built to love. I know what you’re thinking, “weren’t we all?”. I’d tell you 1) Yes but we all have different gifts when it comes to showing others Christ in us and 2) Stop thinking about yourself, this blog is about ME!

Honestly, some people just can’t stop talking about themselves…. Where was I?

Ah yes, how awesome I am at loving people.

To me, my day isn’t complete until I can tell someone exactly what God thinks about them; which inevitably ends up blessing their socks off (whether they are a believer or not) and it gives me more fulfillment than anything else I’ve done in 26 years of life. Being love the way Jesus was is so much more, and that is where God wants to complete me. He has promised to marry my natural zeal for others with Godly wisdom and Christ-like boldness and truth.

The second promise to show me how to live is quite a complicated one. The most concise way to put it is that He wants me to be less “Aww I totally gotta have this and this and two of those and be here and be doing that and THEN do what you want God”, and more “Whatever you want you want is golden and you’re awesome so forever yes. Your grace is honestly sufficient for me.”

That one is going to be the most painful for me.

By far.

Seriously.

Like ouch times 1000.

Please Pray.

Like now.

Moving on…

The third promise to teach me His Word. Is rather simple. I want to know the Bible like the living, breathing Word of God it is. For years my focus has been on just loving God and loving people. That’s awesome and the exact thing we are called to…however, Jesus quoted scripture constantly. The man knew His Father’s words. We all know we are to love others, but to be the lover I was created to be I need the wisdom of the Word to know how to love others.

The last promise is just to take the stage He sets for me. Whether it is answering phones at an office, playing music, being a teacher or running a taco stand, we all have a stage we have been trusted with. I’ve always wanted to be a person who was trusted with a position of influence and favor. That looks a lot different to me today than it did for most of my life. I know that my stage will involve ministry and a lot of influence. God is going to trust me with a large audience to show love to. I don’t know specifically how that will manifest for me when I return to the U.S. yet. I definitely have my desires and God has proven time and time again that He is flagrantly for us and even our heart’s desires, so for now I am being prepared for whatever he sets up.

I can’t play Wembley to a crowd of 100,000 if I only have enough material for an EP, right?

I wanted to share these things with you because there is no doubt that a lot of my blogs will directly correlate with one or more of these promises in their process toward fulfillment. Stay tuned to how He continues to fulfill these promises and makes me more like Christ every step of the way.

I can’t wait to see myself ๐Ÿ™‚
