Hello family and friends, beloved brothers and sisters!! I miss you all very much! May God bless you and keep you for all you are and all you do for His Kingdom!! I want to share with you what God has been teaching me this month. I feel like each month has had a theme for what God is teaching and this month (in Kasungu, Malawi) the theme is REST. I have been trying to find exactly how I rest in God since the Awakening back in Ireland during the month of September. This month I feel like I am able to absorb all that God has for me and much much more.
I have had a lot of free time during the day that I know is a gift from God! I thank Him so much for being so sovereign! Its no coincidence that we are at the halfway point of the race and God is blessing us with, not only spiritual rest, but also physical rest. It has been amazing to how tiring ministry can be. I have felt exhausted after several months of ministry so this rest came just in time!! Praise God for His faithfulness to His children!!
I have had a lot of time to dive into the Word and I love it!! I needed it so much! To just be able to sit back and absorb what God has done and what He is doing through His Word is an amazing blessing. Of course I read the Bible daily, but being able to do it fully rested, has enabled me to really grasp all that the Word is saying. Lately I have been reading Hosea and have been seeing God’s love for His people. I am experiencing God in a new way, not only as, Father, Savior, King, and Lord, but also as Lover! It is amazing how much our God is crazy in Love with us!!! I mean utterly amazing!!
My prayers for this month have been two part. For God to reveal how I rest in Him and He is doing just that. Also I have been praying that I will surrender and release to His Holy Spirit. I have been calling on the Holy Spirit a lot more than I ever have and I have seen Him show up many times! At one point I was half asleep and was about to go outside to use the outhouse when I felt moved to pray for my brother Phillip. I started praying and not long after I lost control and the Holy Spirit to the wheel. I started shouting prayer and it turned from praying for Phillip’s family to praying for the nations. It was amazing!
Just the other night before I went to bed I was reading about the gifts of the Spirit and the manifestation of tongues. It was the last thing I remember thinking about before I went to bed. That night I woke up twice in my bed face down on my knees! As if I had been praying in my sleep!! I was blown away! Also every time I woke up I was singing praises (one time out loud even). I love what the Holy Spirit is doing to and in me. It is a powerful testament to God’s Glory and power that He has given to us. I cant wait to see how the Holy Spirit will show up next. It is different every time and it usually entails me laughing histerically and shouting praises. I love it!!
I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas!! I pray that you will remember the reason behind it. Its not about santa and receiving gifts. Its about a man that completely revolutionized the way we live and think! Its about a God that gave up everything He had to have a relationship with you!! Its about the sacrifice it took to make you one with Him and the love that envelops you! Its all about Jesus!!
This Christmas I challenge you to spend time with someone that you normally would never think twice about. Maybe a homeless person on the street, a poor beggar that wants your change, or even a person that you never had the nerve to approach. Anyone. Step out and show the love of God that is inside of you to someone. Jesus would do it and your His follower. Give the gift of the Love of God for Christmas this year. God bless you and keep you!!!
