Hi! My name is Julia Barker, I’m from Mechanicsville, Virginia, and I am so excited about leaving in September! World Race has already changed my life so much and I have barely even started preparing for it. I’m a senior in high school and a few months ago my plan was to go to culinary school and get my degree in baking and pastry arts. God changed that plan very suddenly (And I’m glad he did). I learned about World Race when I went to lunch with my older sister and she told me about a friend of hers that was leaving for the race in January 2017. She showed me the WR website and I looked at all the routes, and I instantly fell in love. Traveling is my favorite thing to do and I absolutely love people and missions so this seemed like the perfect fit. I was determined to do everything I could to convince my parents that this was going to be my plan for after high school. I did a lot of talking with God and with my parents and when we (finally!) decided that I was going to submit my application, I was ecstatic! I don’t think I have ever been this excited about anything in my entire life. I know God has a lot in store for me, some good and some bad, but I can’t wait to go and do Gods work!
Matthew 28:19-20
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
