We just finished reading Othello in my English class and I feel like this play can be related to what I’m going to face in the field. This play is about reputation, miscommunication, and betrayal, but there is an underlying theme of good vs. evil. One of the characters (Iago) is portrayed as the devil and the other main character (Othello) is portrayed like God. Just like in every tragedy, the protagonist has a tragic flaw that causes his downfall and the antagonist tries to bring the protagonist down. In this case, Iago was mad that Othello gave the job Iago wanted to someone else, so he convinced Othello that his right hand man (Cassio) was sleeping with his wife that way Othello would get rid of Cassio and Iago could take his place. OK so you might be thinking, How does this relate to World Race? but it does, I promise. I think that while in life, people are always going to try to bring you down. There is always going to be someone that says you can’t do it and they will discourage you, but you can do it. While I’m gone, I’m not going to let anyone get in the way of me ministering to other people. God has provided me with such an amazing opportunity and I won’t let anyone bring me down!
