Heading into this adventure there were people I expected to grow close to, to learn from and to be challenged by. Those people were mainly my team and the people I'm serving. That has already proven true, but there's a group I overlooked. These people have given me real life examples of what it means to live out my faith, to trust God with all of life's details, to pray expectantly, and to serve from a place of genuine love. They not only serve the people in their church and community, but they have served us so well, something I am humbled by and am so grateful for. AIM refers to these people as our contacts, but they are so much more than that. They've filled the role of host, chauffeur, chef, encourager, tour guide, painting buddy, prayer partner, translator, role model, and friend…and it's only month two! The people we served along side in Ireland were by far our hardest goodbyes, the ones that brought us to tears. I already know it will be no different in Ukraine.

The Cliffs of Moher (aka: The Cliffs of Insanity)
I've been in Ukraine for a week and it feels like I'm in paradise (another thing I never expected)…especially after the 3 LONG days of travel it took to get here. The last couple days I have been in a constant state of worship and awe over the small things. I've seen God in my morning runs, in belly laughing with friends, in the sun shining on my face as I lay in my hammock, in spontaneous singing, in playing catch with Ashley, and so much more. I hope and pray this practice of living aware of God's presence continues throughout my life. We are working to finish the third floor of the ministry house we are living in, and helping minister to the people of L'viv. The vision for this house is to be a blessing to so many different people: to be a retreat for those needing rest, a home for those in transition, and whatever else to whoever else needs it. This family (The Blessings), have shared their hearts, lives and God's purpose for them so well that we feel a part of it and invested, instead of strangers coming in to help for three short weeks. Because of how well we have been welcomed, working doesn't feel like work here.
