I have driven 3000+ miles through 9 states, and slept in 10 different beds/couches in the past 3 weeks.  My goodbyes are now complete and I'm ready to head out!  Some goodbyes were teary, others weren't, some were rushed, others drawn out, and all reminded me how loved I am and how much I will miss everyone this year.  I will cherish all emails, skype conversations, comments, facebook messages, etc…so keep em coming, even if I can't respond immediately.

Goodbye Charlotte

Goodbye Wrigley (and thank you for having zero chance at making history while I'm gone)

Goodbye Cabin

Goodbye Minnesota

Goodbye Michigan

Goodbye family (well, part of you)

As I prepared to leave my list of "last minute things" I needed to pack seemed to double each time I walked into a store (especially REI), but all decisions have officially been made and all items wrestled into my pack.

Will it fit?

Sure will…and under the 50lb limit!

I fly to D.C. TOMORROW morning for launch.  How long will we be there before flying to our first country (Ireland)?  We don't know.  This sounds stressful to some people, but I am actually excited that this will be my norm for the year.  I will rarely know my schedule from day to day, let alone from month to month.  But, as I have said in a previous blog, I may not know, but God does and He's got this.

Prayer requests as I leave:
-That I remain focused on my relationship with God and open to what He is teaching me throughout this journey.
-That I will love my teammates and the people I am serving well, even when it's difficult.
-That when I get homesick, I will remember how truly blessed I am to have close family and friends, even though that makes it harder to be so far away.
…and of course for safety as we traverse the globe.
