As you may know, since 2007 I have spent as much time as possible participating in mission work. I decided to study Biology in College with the sole intention of making medical mission work my future. Over time, I have realized that it is not as much the medical portion I am passionate about, as much the mission / service work.  I am incredibly happy in my day to day life, working in a great environment with amazing people, however I have known deep down that this is not my long term path. Recently I have found myself wondering more and more, when is the right time to give up my day to day life and follow my heart?  The answer ended up being a loud resounding NOW!

This year, I will be starting a very different journey. I’m taking a leap of faith and participating in a program called The World Race which is a mission trip that travels to 11 different countries over 11 months. The World Race is a program that was started by their parent company, Adventures in Missions.  Alongside a team of other mission minded individuals I will be headed to Costa Rica, Honduras, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Philippines, Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda.

While on this mission we will embark on various projects from construction and renovations to building relationships with orphans. We will provide help in any way possible whether it be within a refugee camp, a local clinic, cooking meals for the hungry and displaced, laying cement, painting murals, teaching hygiene or most importantly attempting to bring children hope in the universal language of silly faces and tickle fights 🙂

It is hard for me to believe that I am writing this letter. Even more difficult to believe that in less than six months I will be adventuring into unknown territory on an ongoing service project that has the potential to give hope and joy to those who have very little. I would like to ask for you to please participate in this mission with me through support in any way you are able to provide it. Deciding to go was easy for me, as I know that my heart and soul are fully invested. However, paying for it is going to take some help. This is something that is very near and dear to what I feel is my mission in life, if it was not so important I can assure you I would not be asking for your help! The funds I must raise will go towards the expenses of the trip and the projects we will be working on. As I’m sure you can imagine, an 11-month mission trip is not cheap and I would be extremely grateful for your support. My goal is to raise $16,500 for this trip and anything you are willing to offer will mean the world to me.

Please consider joining in this mission with me prayerfully, financially, or by simply offering words of encouragement for a life changing opportunity. I’m only asking you to give what you can, anything helps and nothing is too small! All donations are tax deductible.
