Last month our team was ýn Serbia and we were ýn Belgrade, the capýtal of Serbýa and Nis ýs the 3rd largest cýty of the country. There wasn´t a specifýc mýnýstry we were doýng because we were the fýrst ones representýng World Race to enter the country. Our goal was to fýnd potentýal contacts and understand theýr needs for future racers to help them ýn theýr mýnýstry ýn Serbýa. We arrýved ýnto Belgrade not knowýng where we would stay or whom we should contact. It was a month of learnýng to trust that God ýs always one step ahead of us and guýdes us to where we need to go.  We met a pastor that let us stay ýn hýs house for a very cheap prýce and we were able to meet our monthly budget sýnce everythýng was so expensýve ýn Serbýa.

While i was in Nis, I shared my testimony on how God has been breaking different boxes that I had put Him in prior to coming to the race and God continues to convict me to share this as a blog. Here is an excerpt of my testimony:

Before this trip, i had read about how Jesus healed many many people in the bible. I understood it with head knowledge, i didn’t quite believe that we can be healed if we pray for healing. I thought that miraculous or instant healing was only something from the bible, but not for our times now.

2 months ago about the time when we started the trip, i woke up one day and my left knee was hurting. I don’t normally have knee pains but i felt it the whole morning. I struggled with if i should ask my team to pray for me. Part of me didn’t believe that i could be healed. I finally decided to tell them that my knee was hurting and that i would walking slow that day, half hoping they wouldn’t suggest to pray for me. But they did – so my team laid hands on my knee and prayed asking God to heal the pain in my knee. After they prayed, they asked how it felt. I stood up, and just as I had expected, I still felt the pain. My teammate David, excitedly shouted “let’s pray again”. So we all sat back down and my team prayed again asking for God’s healing to my knee. The second round of prayer, i aslo prayed, asking God to forgive me for my lack of faith and I began to ask for healing myself in addition to my teammates’ prayers on my behalf. We finished praying and they all asked me how I was feeling. I stood up, bent my knee, walked around a bit and to my surprise – NO PAIN! Absoulutely no pain?! Yes i was shocked but excited – so excited I ran down the little field we were praying on to make sure i didn’t feel the pain – and I didn’t. God had restored my knee to full health. We sat back down and thanked God for the instant healing and teaching us, me that He is a living God that can heal, in the times of the bible and this very moment we live in.

See, I had put God in a box that healing is not something that He doesn’t do now. I was so relying on medical healing, I didn’t even think twice about asking the ultimate healer of all.

I learned a huge lesson from that experience – God is our healer.

We need to take action in our faith or what we profess to believe in, to see God move – or we miss seeing what God can do. James 2:17 says In the same way, faith by ýtself, ýf ýt ýs not accompanýed by actýon ýs dead

All that time prior to my knee being healed, i didn’t have the faith that God can heal or I didn’t act on what little faith I did have, so that became my reality. God wants us to see His truth but to see that, we need to believe and act on that belief or we continue to live in our perceived reality which may not be God’s truth. In the book of Matthew, all the people that Jesus healed – did 2 things: they had faith and they brought the sick to Him.

In the past 2 months, my team has been seeing different types of miraculous healings – one of our leader’s vision was completely restored – to the point where he no longer needs his glasses. We have seen legs which were uneven in length grow to be the same length. God created us, He does not want us to be in pain, he knows our pains and and He can heal but He is also waiting for us to have faith and come to Him.

So I encourage you, that if you are feeling not well, whether physically, mentally, emotionally or spiritually – have faith that God can heal, and then act on that faith and go to Him and watch Him do the rest.
