Alright…if I follow the first advice given about blogging, “Write what you want to remember,” I so want to remember this…no Robert Frost here, but grateful for the joyful tears that still come when reading this after really seeing Jesus in a deeper way that will be in my heart forever. Fun, love, joy, mischievous, safe…dancing :o).
Training Camp 5am 7-17-14
You’re cool, Jesus
beyond what I yet know
Your dance moves are amazing
I have so far to go!
You love to simply love me
I’m learning this is true
Help me just bask in your presence
You truly see me through.
You busted through perceptions
Preconceived ideas
And show up much more “human”
than I had ever seen.
You groove and then You hold me
So closely to your chest
Your arms are wrapped around me
I only need to rest.
Lay my head back upon You.
Take a deep breath and sigh.
For you are also my “lover”
You long to draw me nigh.
You kneel so gently before me.
Removing my hand from my face
And say to me, “I got this.”
“Now lean into My grace.”
“My face is right before you.
My arms are open wide.
I cup your face to tell you,
‘I want you by my side.'”
“Sometimes I’m right behind you
My arms wrapped securely around
just lay your head back and listen
Don’t force it. You’ll hear my sound.”
“I am your God, your Savior,
I am great and mighty, yes,
But Jules, where I want you
Is right here by my chest.”
“I am your rear guard and front guard
Never just one or the other
Trust and rest, and dance, and run
Knowing I am a protective lover.”
“For you are my daughter,
My precious gem and jewel.
I’ll keep you and I’ll guide you,
None in me will be a fool.”
“Keep your hands wide open.
It’s me who runs the show.
With yourself and others,
Just trust me…and let go.”
Lord, for those who don’t know you, please speak to their hearts. Heal any wounds or misconceptions. Jesus, you want all to come to you. To know you. You are not aloof. You are not mad at them, even for little things. You just want them to come. Just as they are. Faults, insecurities, fears. Mistakes, regrets, uncertainties. Joys, quirks, curiosities, ponderances. Even those who do know you…reveal yourself anew. As they spend time in your word, or listening to worship music, or doing the things you’ve created them to do and enjoy, please help them see your delight in how you’ve created them…uniquely and wonderfully…made for moment by moment relationship with you forever.
Love you, Lord.
Goodnight,
Julia
:o) So, transparency…for whatever reason, whether it appears this way or not to you, this blog feels so vulnerable. I’ve been tempted to remove it…Then I just came across someone else’s blog, “The Beauty of Transparency”. Gotta love it. Loved reading that. Another girl learning about this whole transparency thing. I loved the quote from camp, “Get comfortable with being uncomfortable.” Well, here we go! I want to live this year to the fullest!
You know what was so freeing about seeing Jesus dance like a goof in my mind…besides my own, “Is this ok?!” was the fact that that’s His heart…I mean, He created us…humor, joy, goofiness, along with seriousness, depth, all of it. Children LOVED him! There was a reason for that! And as far as seeing him as a “lover”…well, in a sweet, safe way, He is mentioned as the groom and we are the bride. In such a dear, sweet, precious way, it’s awesome to have that experience, too…just knowing He wants to be around us and loves us as we are. And what else was cool about these two descriptions (if you’ve made it this far, God bless you for still reading)…I think a lot of us can be pretty hard on ourselves, unconsciously “forgetting” that Jesus died for us to be free from condemnation. Repent, yes. Learn, yes! Beat yourself up…no! So, to see Jesus in these ways so clearly this time rocked! I’ve experienced these truths about Him before, but these were sweet pictures. He’s good, He’s life, He’s forgiveness, He’s joy! Who doesn’t want some of that! He’s also so many other things. He wants what’s best for us, even if it hurts at times. Seeking Him, He always has a reason.
Alright…my heart, mind, and the rest of me are going to hit the sack for real now.
Love y’all! Even the 6 of you who read the blog before this addendum…whoever you are!
What in you did God create that gives a reflection of Himself?
