Five hour flight to LAX, short but fun time with Ryan, fifteen hour flight to the Philippines, two and a half hour flight to Bangkok, four hour drive to Kharat, two and a half hour drive to a place we’ve been calling home. It’s incredible here! The culture is so different than we are used to whether that is the food, the language, or signs of respect. There isn’t really “breakfast food” here that we have found. Our meals consist of rice, rice and rice but you can mix it up by what you get with the rice. The food is actually amazing, we love it! Our hosts have us try new foods everyday and sometimes every meal so we’ve had a variety of food. Our hosts are Saeng and Grace and their two children Samuel and Hosanna. They are two are the sweetest people and their kids are nothing less.
This past week we had the opportunity to teach English at three schools, prayer walk at a couple temples, plan and host a Christmas party. Teaching English has been incredible. The kids love to learn and they were very excited to have English speaking people come and teach them. They pick up English a lot faster than we pick up Thai, but the kids love it when we at least try to speak their language.
It has been really fun living just as a team. We’ve grown closer and we spend so much more time together. It’s fun making so many memories together in such a short amount of time. Unfortunately that also means we learn how to make each other mad, haha, so it is also a challenge learning to spend every second with six other girls. We are learning to give each other space, and give ourselves alone time. It’s not easy but you make it work.
Thanks so much for all your prayers and support! We are very thankful for it. I hope you’re having a wonderful Holiday season! Merry Christmas!
