Friends and Family,

I am very excited for this new adventure in my life. Six Months ago I wouldn’t have believed I was going to be traveling to three countries this next year and be gone for nine months, it seems crazy to me still. As these days and weeks go by, it gets me more nervous about what is ahead and the unknowns I will be facing. I also know that this is what God wants me to be doing this year and that is a very peaceful feeling.

So, for those of you who do not know, I am taking a year off from school this next year to do a missions trip. The program I am doing this through is called World Race. The trip I am taking leaves in the first week of September and I will be traveling to Central America, Southeast Asia and Africa. We spend three months in each country for a total of nine months. I will be with a team of about 70 who are between the ages of 18-22. Each country will be a totally different experience and the service we do will depend on where we are but we will be doing this such as: working with the homeless, orphans, sex-trafficking victims, elderly, and then also in construction, cooking meals, etc.

Many of you might be curious what countries we are going to but that is still unknown to all of us. July19th I will be flying to Georgia for training camp and that is when we find out which countries we are going to. We will be there for a week which will be very good for us to meet other people so we can know at least one other person when we leave in September. I am also sure that they have a lot planned for that week so that we are better prepared for departure and feel confident about the trip.

For those of you who are praying for me throughout all this, I would appreciate prayer for preparing to go to training camp and being able to connect with many other Christian men and women whom I will be serving with, pray for the fundraising and that God will provide the money that I need to make this happen, and lastly pray that God will keep preparing my heart and mind for the experiences we are going to face. Thank you so much for being a prayer partner!

Lastly, I will do my best to post pictures and write about what is going on where ever I am so you can stay updated.
