There is so much power in the little things. They add up to become big big things. We have this thing called strawberry moments. Basically the definition of a strawberry moment is a sweet moment God blesses you with just because He wants to. How cool is that. Any ways a strawberry moment can be any and every sweet moment. Its the awe moments,  the moments you just want to sink in and stay in. We are granted these moments many times throughout the day, but a lot of time the stress or business of life over shadows them. Coming to Swaziland, we have been  stripped of the things that make my life busy. Two main ones being wifi, and filling up my calendar. Being in Swaziland most of our days are planned out besides Saturday, which is adventure day. Monday is Sabbath, which is meant for rest and time with the Lord. Tuesday through Friday is our ministry days, and Sunday is church, cleaning day, and we also have other teachings from our leaders on this day. Our options on adventure days are also very limited to a gas station and one restaurant called Nesala, which we are all so beyond thankful for. The jist of what I am getting at is the fact that it is impossible to be busy in Swaziland. At first I hated this, because I am a busy bee. I loved having my calendar filled, and many things to do. Slowing down has taught me what being still in the Lord and what He has blessed us with truly means. Its the little things in life that add up to be big things.

Some of my strawberry moments have been:

Lying in green grass in South Africa ( we don’t really have green comfy grass in Swazi)

A Child’s laugh when you spin them around or take them down the slide with you

the breeze on a super hot day

The birds singing praise in the morning

Someone sharing the rest of their French press coffee with you

Dancing in church when greeting everyone

Lighting storms on random nights

A kid running up to you with their hands up to be held

When your washed clothes don’t blow off the fence or a cow doesn’t eat them!!

Having clean feet ( rarely happens) haha

Getting a kombi (public bus ) right away

When our ministry host David (best ministry host ever) buys us nic-nacs(Cheetos)

When Hannah sells us home made baked goods

When the water at the water pump does not take twenty years to get out water

Finding pretty flowers in to the middle of no where

A kid sleeping on you

Apricot jelly

When David gets us potatoes to cook with for breakfast

Sound of rain on our metal roofs

Watching sithulele play circle games with the kids (he gets in to it haha)

Jenna’s famous coffee creamer

Smelling a falll candle

When it is not 108 degrees at church

Seeing a white and purple Butterly

They are not anything major or huge. They are simple and small things that brighten your day. They are all gifts for the Lord. They may seem too minor to make a big impact, but these small strawberry moments have changed my life. They have brightened my days on days where I miss home, when community living is super hard, when I am exhausted and the sun is beating down, when the devil comes in and tries to feed me lies. The Lord has given us so much he does not have to give us these little drops of heaven on earth. He loves us so much that He blesses us with these moments that are not absolutely needed. He is such a generous God.
