Thailand is on the other side of the Pacific Ocean as the West Coast in the US.

The Language

In Thailand when people say hello or thank they fold their hands and bow their heads.

Cambodia
The Country

Cambodia is a small country next to Thailand.
In Cambodia I stayed in a village between Sisophon and Siem Reap.

The Money

In Cambodia the money is called Reil (pronounced real)
4000 Reil = 1 US Dollar
Having 1000 Reil is like having a quater
The People

The People in Cambodia are very friendly and would always wave and say hello to us.

What I Did
When I was in Cambodia I taught English to the kids living in the Village.
Here you can see me teaching the alphabet.
Transportation
There are cars and buses in Cambodia but a lot of people use Motor Bikes or as they call them Motos to get around.
Here is a picture of the pastor of the church I helped at taking our bags.
One time I saw someone carrying a whole pig on the back of a moto.
Also in the village lots of people ride around on the backs of tractors like the picture above.

Vietnam
The Country
Vietnam is a really long country.
This month my team is in Hanoi all the way in the North.

To get to Hanoi my team drove from Cambodia to Saigon (Ho Chi Ming City).

After we got to Saigon we flew to Hanoi because it would have taken us 2 days to drive there.
The Money
The money in Vietnam is called Dong.
20,000 Dong = 1 US Dollar
For the first time in my life I’m a millionaire because 1 million Dong = 50 US Dollars
The Food
Vietnam is the land of Pho.
Pho is a soup with rice noodles and meat.
In Vietnam Beef is called Bo and Chicken is called Ga.
I like Pho Bo the best.

Spring Rolls are very famous in Vietnam, almost every family knows how to make them and people fight over who’s is better.
My team got invited to a local families house to make spring rolls. We had lots of fun and ate a lot.
Tourism
In north Vietnam about 3 hours from Hanoi is a very famous bay call Ha Long Bay.
Can you find Ha Long Bay on the map?
Ha Long Bay is full of giant rocks or islands coming out of the water.
I got to spend a day on boat traveling around the bay but the bay is so large it would take over a week to see the whole thing.
