Rend Collective is one of my favorite bands, they often use interesting instruments and have songs that speak right to my heart. As I prepare to leave for The World Race, prepare for a year of stretching and growing, Rend Collective’s song “Broken Bread” has stood out to me.

This is my prayer: that I be used by God and allow God to use me in any and all situations (letting God’s dreams come true through me); whether I’m here in Spokane or embarking on an adventure around the World. This isn’t easy in fact I find it to be really hard. It’s hard to let go of my ideals of how I want God to use me or think God should use me and just allow God to work through me. It’s hard to let go of fears and insecurities to allow God to work through me uninhibited. However, if I’m truly going to be used by God, God’s will done God’s way as Rend Collective says, then I must let go of my ideals, fears and insecurities.
As I get ready for The World Race it is my prayer that I would not fight God but allow God to take me beyond my current state of being into more of who I’m created to be. Amen
