I believe that God is in control of the direction of my life. I do not need to worry about him providing what I need or if He will do it in the right timeline.  This has become so clear since getting accepted to The World Race.

Over the past few years since college I have managed to rack up a bunch of debt.  I started getting it under control about a year and a half ago when I took out a loan against my car to pay off all my debt. Thank goodness that the loan officer was green in her job because she actually gave me a loan!! I have been paying on the loan each month since.  I have to admit that I started putting a little here and a little there on my credit card and accumulated a little more debt.  But all in all, the debt was being paid down.

After my initial excitement from being accepted to The World Race subsided I started to get a little worried about how I was going to keep paying on this loan for the year that I was gone (and not to mention the credit card).  I knew that the race was where God wanted me and that He had been clearing the path but I just couldn’t figure out what I was going to do.  (Yes, you read that right, “what I was going to do”).  One day after work I was driving home, just minding my own business, when I guy with a huge SVU pulled out in front of me and I slammed into the side of his car.  The airbags went off and everything in my car was now covering the front seat and in the floorboards. Everyone was OK, we filled out the police report and both had our cars towed.  It wasn’t my fault, and I knew that from the beginning, so I wasn’t worried about anything except his insurance. He didn’t have his insurance card with him, but then again, neither did I. So we decided to swap insurance information and figure it out the next day.

I called his insurance company first because they were the ones that I was going to be able to get the money from.  I was informed that the other driver had missed his last payment and therefore was not covered at the time of the wreck. AHHH!!  Thank goodness I had uninsured motorist coverage.  My insurance company would cut me a check in a couple of days. Nothing to worry about……. Except that the loan officer had given me a loan for about two times the Kelly Blue Book of my car.  So now I had no car, a loan, and credit card debt.

I went to go pick up the check from my insurance company and she handed me a check for twice the Kelly Blue Book Value!!! I had enough to pay off ALL my debt and enough left over to purchase a car with cash to last me until September 28th!!!!

So, Yes I believe that God is in control of the direction of my life. I do not need to worry about him providing what I need or if He will do it in the right timeline.  GOD ROCKS!!!
