After 20+ hours of traveling, we arrived in New Zealand early Monday morning (Auckland time). The flight wasn’t too bad from LA to Auckland. Qantas was a great airline, with a ton of inflight entertainment. The only bad thing is that I’ve lost one of my bags!! The one with all my clothes!! So sad….I’m hoping it turns up. We spent most of today moving into our home for the summer, a cute little 3 bedroom house. It will be nice and cozy for sure. Then we did a “Cultural Dip”, which is us going through the city looking for and doing certain activities. We exchanged our money, took a bus ride, got a “fluffy” at a McCafe (which is a coffee shop in a McDonald’s), saw some super cool flowers along the way, we are definitely in a Pacific nation! Tomorrow should be more getting acquainted with the area type day, and Wednesday we will begin our ministry with Mangere Baptist Church. I’m really looking forward to spending the next 8 weeks here. It’s quite beautiful. Tonite we were able to go to Dave and Trena Morse’s house for dinner. They are on staff with AIM and run the base here in New Zealand. It’s been a great first night in a new country and I’m anxious for more!
By the way… SEND ME MAIL! It takes a week or two to get here, and packages are probably really expensive, but I love letters!! Thanks so much!!
