I wish you could experience and see some of the miracles and growth that God has done through and in me. I have just finished my second month in Africa and I am about to cross the border into Mozambique. Last month I had the pleasure of leading a team of 9 men in Swaziland. We worked on a self-sustaining farming ministry called Project Canaan. We did a lot of manual labor and prayer ministry for the workers that we toiled side by side with. I saw a lot of inner healing and growth in the men on my team. The Lord really blessed my obedience to step into leadership as I have relied on His strength.
This month marks a transition for me that will change the rest of my race. I have been selected to be raised up as a Squad Leader along with two other girls, Jenny and Liz. Our team of three will be responsible for discipling, guiding and sheparding the rest of the squad for the remainder of the 11 months. Our alumni squad leaders who were previous racers, will be going home after this next month. They chose me to be a part of their replacement team, and I couldn’t be more honored!
I feel extremely unqualified and pretty nervous about this responsibility, but I also feel so blessed to be able to step out in faith like this. The day that I was asked to serve in this role, I was prayer journaling and was asking God for everything that He had for me. I had previously been feeling an increasing call to leadership, but it hadn’t been specific. I thought that I was just supposed to be a leader without a title, and express leadership in more subtle ways. I had this crazy sensation to literally ask for the position of squad leader inside my prayer journal. I said “no way, not a chance,” and continued to journal. Again, I felt like God asked me to write out a bold request for the position. I stopped writing and bowed my head; when I looked back up I decided to take a chance, and shakily wrote out “God will you give me squad leader” in my journal. About eight hours later I was asked to step up into this position! I am excited to step into this role, and I am so excited that God laid it on my heart to want the most challenging things that will grow me the most.
During this next season I would like to ask you to pray for me in three specific areas: 1. Wisdom 2. Boldness 3. Humility
Thanks again for all of the prayer and financial support that you have put into the work that God is doing in and through me in the nations!
