God doesn’t call those who are perfect, he calls those who are willing. This is a truth that I have been thinking about for the last couple of days. It is very crazy that the Jesus wants me to follow him. All of the times that I have slipped up and have sinned may seem to overwhelm the grace that God gives so freely, yet Jesus has called me to follow him wherever he leads me.

He leads me to step out in boldness and live my life as an example and he calls me to speak truth into other people’s lives. He calls my life to be living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God which is my spiritual worship. (Romans 12:1) When it says a ‘living sacrifice’, it is meaning my life should be lived to the fullest for God in all that I do. Everything is given for the praise and glory of his great name.

Many times, we as people get so timid and scared over the thought of not knowing what to say when God calls us to go talk to a person. We may blatantly question his voice of whether he actually said something. There is a lot of fear in the unknown. What if they judge me for what I say? What if they laugh at the things I say? What if… There are so many things that a person could put after that phrase. But the even bigger question is: What if they don’t know God at all when they die? What if I didn’t take the opportunity to share with them?

We are not perfect people, and Jesus understands that. But he wants us to look at the harvest that is ready, and be a laborer for him. Matthew 9:37-38 says, Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest..”

That last part is so important. The harvest is his. The Lord has ‘reaped’ us for himself and he calls us to labor earnestly for more.
